The roar of the crowd could be heard from over 2 blocks away, the roar of the large dodge pickup was muffled by the loud noise. Derek glanced ahead at the brightly lit arena where the local rodeo was being held. A smile upon his lips as he glanced in the rear view mirror at the silver 2 horse slant that was trailing behind him. He knew that inside the steel trailer was Boozer. The tall black gelding was probably watching the passing cars or stareing out at the surrounding country side. Boozer had been ready for the rodeo when Derek had rode him earlier that evening...he had blasted out from behind the line and stayed right along side the dappled steer as Derek finished off his run.
As he pulled the truck into a parking spot, he shut the engine down and stepped out of the truck. His white shirt blew slightly in the evening breeze making him glad that it was a long sleeve shirt. The lights of the arena reflected brightly in the shinny silver of his high school championship buckle. Those were good memories, ones that he would always truely treasure. Tapping the side of the trailer letting the gelding know that he was about to open the doors so that he wouldn't startle. "Times coming Boozer." Derek said calmly as he opened the twin doors and gently tugged on the black quarter horses tail. Within a couple second he began to step backwards carefully. His silver lined hooves clanked softly upon the gravel as he exited the trailer. "Ready boy...lets get yah warmed up." With that Derek tightened the saddle up and stepped up onto the gelding to warm him up so that he wouldn't pull anything during their run. Glancing at his water he had about 30 minutes before the wrestling matchs started.
